Firebird Commander 2 Parts and Upgrades

No better R/C airplane to start with in our opinion. That statement is true for several HobbyZone remote control planes. However, the anti crash technology makes all the difference to the absolute beginner. What this technology does, is prevent nose dives into the ground. The on board sensors know if you are too close to the ground and will pull you out of an unsafe dive automatically. After you gain some experience and confidence, you can turn this feature off and fly more aggresively. The Firebird Commander 2 can certainly be used to teach yourself how to fly. Even in the unfortunate case of an accident, inexpensive replacement parts are available here and are easy to install, even for a beginner R/C airplane flyer.

Everything is included in the box. Ready to fly as soon as you take it out of the box. Comes with an instructional DVD that is very thorough. If you are a new flier, definately follow the directions closely so your maiden flight does not turn into a disaster. Even though you can purchase replacement parts for the HobbyZone Firebird Commander 2 very inexpensively, it's much more fun to fly it than have to repair it all the time. The rear propeller setup is a must for any beginner. Can be a bit frustrating for a beginner to continually have to replace the prop after bad landings. If you are a beginner, bring some extra parts with you to the field just in case.

Electric remote control airplane for the beginner. Approximately 20 minutes of flight time on a charge. If there is a little bit of wind and you catch some drafts, the flight time can be extended by gliding. However, it is best to fly the HobbyZone Firebird Commander 2 R/C Airplane in no wind. The range is about 2500 feet which is over eight football fields. Very good range for a radio controlled aircraft that is under $100. No elevator control gives the beginner less controls to worry about when flying. Simply power up and the HobbyZone Firebird Commander 2 gains speed and altitiude. Throttle down to descend. More than capable 380 motor which powers a rear propeller. Soft nose takes the impact of a rough landing very well.

X-Port Accessories

Several X-Port accessories you can purchase seperately. Aerial Drop Module (HBZ6023), Sonic Combat Module (HBZ4020) or the Night Flight Module (HBZ3510). The Aerial Drop Module enables you to drop a parachute from the aircraft when you specify. The Sonic Combat Module allows you to dogfight a friend. This is a favorite X-Port accessory. The Night Flight Module allows for night flying. Not recommended for beginners.
